A Pacific Northwest native, Erin grew up on the coast of the Puget Sound in Washington State. A natural love for the oceans, forests, and planet led Erin to study at The University of Washington, majoring in Environmental Science and Marine Biology. Shortly after graduation, she packed and moved from the sea to the mountains and fell in love with the vast beauty of Crested Butte. Here she continued to develop a passion for plastic waste mitigation and learned how to utilize local resources to create a minimal-waste lifestyle. In the poetic words of Edward Abbey, Erin enjoys “rambling out yonder, exploring the forests, climbing the mountains, bagging the peaks, running the rivers, breathing deep of that yet sweet and lucid air, sitting quietly for a while and contemplating the precious stillness, the lovely, mysterious, and awesome space”. Erin is looking forward to developing a sustainable lifestyle model for the community of Crested Butte in an effort to reduce plastic consumption and create a healthier future for all!
